Mimram Exhibition. 18th -
Dear Mimram Members,
this is what we need for our exhibition this year...
The quilts will be grouped into sections, as below, so this should give you an idea of what we want to exhibit. Please look at the quilts you have made in the last couple of years (that have not been exhibited anywhere) as we need a good mixture to make our exhibition.
· Traditional Quilts. Any size (eg. bed size quilts / lap quilts / wall hangings etc.) Traditional quilts can be machine pieced but any quilting or applique must be worked by hand
· Sampler quilts / Baby Jane style quilts
· Baby quilts / cot quilts / children's quilts
· Jellyroll / Charm pack quilts
· Quilts / wall hangings that you have made at workshops
· “Reflections of India” quilt or wall-
· “Celebration” Journal quilts competition… see below for details
· Any other quilts / wall hangings
· Cushions and 3D objects
Wall Hanging Challenge
Theme: “Reflections of India”
This is a competition open to members only
No bigger than 24” x 36” landscape or portrait orientation
Must be a quilt (3 layers sandwiched together) but design is completely up to you: contemporary/traditional / mixed media textile art
Journal Quilt Challenge
This is a competition open to anyone. Free for members...£4 for non-
Must be A4 size / portrait orientation only
Must be a quilt (layers sandwiched together) but design is completely up to you: contemporary/traditional / mixed media textile art
Journal quilt and completed form to be handed/posted to Michele Moody (Clark) by 1st March 2017.
Charity Quilt Raffle
Thanks to all of the Dresden plates you have made, we will have 2 quilts to raffle.
Peg Bag Raffle!
We would like 16 peg bags made to raffle. Visitors of the exhibition will buy a raffle ticket and put it in the pocket of the peg bag that they would like to win. If you would like to make a peg bag for this, please let us know as we only need 16!
If you would like to sell any of your hand-
All quilts/sale items to be delivered to the community centre on Friday 17th March 2017.
Journal quilts to be sent/handed to Michele Moody (Clark) by 1st March.
All quilts must be labelled and have a 4” hanging sleeve on the back. (Journal quilts don't need hanging sleeves, just labelled!) We will demonstrate this in January at our four corners.
